I Got Greened
Happy to report that the Liberal Party of Canada has approved my 38 page application to stand for the nomination to represent the Party in the upcoming by-election.
The process is called ‘Green Light’ (hence ‘greened’) and includes filling the application (Pdf below) as well as a criminal record and credit check.
A few of my golf buddies were quite worried about the former but a visit to the Saanich Police Station (I live in the Victoria federal riding but the municipality of Saanich) and $50 got my CRIM check done with no surprises.
The process also included a 50 minute grilling by two lawyers faithful to the Party that thankfully was made easier by the internet, everything I’ve said publically is there, so you get me warts and all.
The nomination will be held on Saturday 13th October at 2 PM at St. Mathias Anglian Church 600 Richmond Avenue (at Richardson).
Come one, come all … more details to follow.
